Service Description

Build stronger first aid skills for more complex emergencies at work, at home, and in the community. Intermediate First Aid + CPR/AED provides more comprehensive training for participants who may be expected to respond to serious injuries, medical emergencies, or higher-risk situations. The course develops assessment, decision-making, triage, and ongoing care skills while reinforcing practical CPR and AED use. Training includes emergency scene management, primary and secondary assessments, CPR, AED use, choking, breathing and cardiovascular emergencies, shock, severe bleeding, wound care, burns, head and spinal injuries, pelvic injuries, fractures and other bone, muscle and joint injuries, medical emergencies, traumatic injuries, safe patient movement, naloxone administration, and workplace first aid responsibilities. This course is ideal for workplace first aiders, supervisors, employees in higher-risk environments, designated responders, and anyone seeking a more comprehensive level of first aid training. **Course Duration** In-Class Training: 14–16 hours with flexible scheduling options. Blended Training: Approximately 8 hours of online theory followed by 7–8 hours of in-person practical training. The online portion must be completed before attending the in-person session. **Certification** Upon successful completion, participants receive an Intermediate First Aid certification through **F.A.S.T. Rescue**, valid for 3 years. **Supplied Materials** Required course materials are supplied as part of the training. Successful completion requires full attendance, participation, demonstration of required first aid and CPR skills, and completion of the required knowledge assessment.
